  Yianni Posnakoff is a Greek-Russian artist living in Plaka, Athens. He had many successful shows up until 1984 in both the United States and Greece selling his works for thousands of dollars. He now resides quietly in Athens and continues to paint new abstract images everyday, many of them using 5-6 separate canvases for one idea or, more often, a cycle of events. His apartment is always filled wall to wall with incredible paintings and he also occupies a storage area with thousands more. During the last twenty years, Yianni explains that the art he most cares about is within himself. He aspires to be a complete and balanced person with the universe. His talent is portrayed in many styles of painting. His subjects include faces, beaches, gods, angels, nudes, men, and women in countless forms using colorful paints or a simple black and white image. His paintings are undeniably fascinating and truly impressive. He will fascinate you, as well. He loves to talk about his work and all that he is saying through it on a variety of spiritual and psychological levels, which he feels most of us tend to ignore.
